Rebecca Karnak
As director of global sustainability policy, Rebecca is responsible for coordination on behalf of ITI and its members in addressing emerging product sustainability policy issues in foreign markets. In this role, she seeks to develop advocacy and outreach strategies that promote global consistency in product stewardship approaches, design mandates, and standards in areas such as energy efficiency, materials content, and eco-labeling.
Previously, Rebecca worked on ITI’s global policy team, tackling trade and technology policy issues in China and energy and environmental policy issues in Asian markets. She came to ITI after working on a range of international trade issues at the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S.-China Business Council, and the World Wildlife Fund.
An Ohio State University grad, Rebecca earned an M.A. in international relations from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). She is a returned Peace Corps volunteer proficient in Mandarin and has a working knowledge of Spanish.
