The InterNational Committee
for Information Technology Standards (INCITS) is the forum of choice for
information technology developers, producers and users for the creation and
maintenance of formal IT standards.
It’s
mission is to promote the effective use of Information and Communication
Technology through standardization in a way that balances the interests of all
stakeholders and increases the global competitiveness of the member
organizations.
INCITS is accredited by, and
operates under rules approved by, the American National Standards Institute
(ANSI). These rules are designed to ensure that voluntary standards are
developed by the consensus of directly and materially affected interests. The
Information Technology Industry Council sponsors’ INCITS.

The
Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF) is a non-partisan research and educational
institute – a think tank – whose mission is to formulate and promote public
policies to advance technological innovation and productivity internationally,
in Washington, and in the states. Recognizing the vital role of technology in
ensuring prosperity, ITIF focuses on innovation,
productivity, and digital economy issues.
ITIF publishes policy reports, holds forums
and policy debates, advises elected officials and their staff, and is an active
resource for the media. It develops new and creative policy proposals to
advance innovation, analyzes existing policy issues through the lens of
advancing innovation and productivity, and opposes policies that hinder digital
transformation and innovation.
