According to top-ranking Republican offices, Ralph Hellmann is considered
one of the 25 best lobbyists in Washington D.C. With his proven ability
to build relationships, affect policy outcome and communicate the interests
of ITI member companies, Ralph is an invaluable leader at ITI. His experience
as a former leadership staffer and a reputation as a results-oriented lobbyist
have made him effective for ITI member companies and respected within the high
tech industry. Ralph is a constant presence in the press, having been
featured in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington
Post, Los Angeles Times, BusinessWeek, San Francisco Chronicle, and National
Journal for his insight and analysis of key tech issues in Congress and
the Administration.
Ralph joined ITI in 1998 after spending over six years with Congressional
leadership where he bridged party lines working with both the Clinton and Bush
Administrations to enact several groundbreaking pieces of legislation. While
serving as House Leadership Policy Director for the House Majority Whip he
led the efforts for passage of the 1996 Welfare Reform Law and the 1997 Balanced
Budget Act. Ralph then served as top policy advisor to Speaker Dennis Hastert
for three years, where he was instrumental in enacting the 2000 Community Renewal
anti-poverty law, the 2001 No Child Left Behind Act, and the 2001 Bush tax
cuts.
Ralph has a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Florida and lives
with his wife Suzanne and their three young children in Alexandria, VA.
