JAMES RATCHFORD JOINS THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
INDUSTRY COUNCIL AS COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR
WASHINGTON, D.C. – James Ratchford
joined the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) this week as Communications
Director. He will serve as ITI’s primary media contact on legislative,
trade and other issues impacting the IT industry and direct ITI’s communications
strategy.
“ITI has an unparalleled reputation in shaping policy issues and driving
standards for the innovation economy,” Ratchford said. “I
look forward to communicating ITI’s policy goals and achievements to
the media, Hill and technology industry.”
Ratchford brings a decade of corporate communications and issue advocacy experience
in Washington and nationally to ITI.
Before joining ITI, Ratchford was Senior Vice President with Financial Dynamics’ Business
Consulting practice in Washington DC, where he designed and managed communications
and public relations campaigns for a wide range of corporate and non-profit
clients.
Previously, Ratchford was Managing Director with Westhill Partners Public
Affairs in Washington. At Westhill Partners, New-York-based communications
consulting firm acquired by Financial Dynamics in 2005, he directed public
affairs and advocacy campaigns for clients seeking to advance a public policy
agenda in Washington or at the state level.
Ratchford’s communications background also includes political campaigns,
both as a consultant and as a communications director, for U.S. Senate and
House of Representatives races.
Ratchford received his Bachelor Of Arts Degree in English Literature at Kenyon
College in Gambier, Ohio his M.A. in English Literature from North Carolina
State University.
