DAWSON WILL STEP DOWN AS ITI PRESIDENT

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) announced today that Rhett Dawson, its President and CEO since December 1993, will step down in November of this year as President and CEO. Plans for a successor to Mr. Dawson will be discussed at the ITI board meeting in March, 2008.

“We are grateful for Rhett’s stellar leadership and commitment to excellence over the last 15 years. He has made ITI the ‘first among equals’ in many areas crucial to our industry’s continued success,” said Laura Ipsen, Senior Vice President of Global Policy and Government Affairs at Cisco Systems and ITI’s Board Chair. “We are pleased to announce that Rhett has agreed to continue on a part-time basis at ITI as Executive Vice Chair through next year to assure a smooth transition.”

“It has been a great privilege to serve as ITI’s President and CEO. This has been the most rewarding and fulfilling work experience anyone can ever expect” Dawson said. “The ITI team, our highly engaged board members and our talented staff have been the world’s best in their consistent and full support. I am at a point in my life where I want greater flexibility in my time and the ability to pursue new endeavors and interests. I am fully committed to making this last year as President and CEO very productive. And, as Executive Vice Chair, I will work with the board and my successor to ensure that ITI is on a path to achieve even greater goals.”

“The Executive Committee has discussed a search plan which will be raised at the upcoming spring meeting” Ipsen continued. “Rhett’s leadership, his ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders, attract a talented team and deliver results is unparalleled in our industry. His seasoned judgment and proven ability to inspire trust and shape strategy are some of the key attributes which will form the basis for our search profile.”
