Kennedy Named 2007 Legislator Of The Year

WASHINGTON, DC –The Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) announced today that Senator Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) is a recipient of the association’s 2007 “Legislator of the Year” award. The award is given annually to key members of Congress whose work on behalf of high tech issues and the industry is exceptional.

“The work of Senator Kennedy to advance issues that are critical to the high tech sector of our economy is outstanding,” said Rhett Dawson, the President of ITI. “His efforts on behalf of immigration reform, health care IT legislation and patent reform are exceptional and I am proud to give him this award.”

Kennedy, Chairman of the Senate’s Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, is serving his ninth term in the Senate. The award was presented to Kennedy this afternoon at the Dirksen Senate Office Building.
