Bret Wincup serves as Director of Government Relations focusing on intellectual property issues as well as other public policy issues affecting the high-tech industry.
In 2001, Bret began his political career in the office of Senator Tom Daschle starting as a staff assistant and later becoming an aide in the press office. He then moved to serve as assistant to the Chief of Staff for a short time before being asked to join the Democratic Cloakroom under the leadership of Senator Daschle followed by Senator Reid. His responsibilities included supporting the Democratic Secretary, Senators and their staff with legislative matters on the Senate floor.
Prior to joining the ITI team, Bret worked on tech policy issues at the Technology Network.
He is a native of the Washington D.C. He graduated from Indiana University where he double majored in Political Science and Theatre & Drama.
