ITI is driving a global industry effort to achieve international harmonization of ICT accessibility technical standards and market requirements. Through public-private partnerships, active engagement in U.S. and international standards initiatives and the development of resources such as, the Voluntary Product Accessibility Template®, or VPAT®) and the ITI (CBEMA) Curve.
Voluntary Product Accessibility Template®
The purpose of the Voluntary Product Accessibility Template®, or VPAT®, is to assist Federal contracting officials and other buyers in making preliminary assessments regarding the availability of commercial "Electronic and Information Technology" products and services with features that support accessibility.
The ITI (CBEMA) Curve was published by Technical Committee 3 (TC3) of the Information Technology Industry Council (formerly known as the Computer & Business Equipment Manufacturer's Association). The Curve and its Application Note comprise a single document and are not to be considered separately from each other. They are not intended to serve as a design specification for products or AC distribution systems. The Curve and this Application Note describe both steady-state and transitory conditions.
