ITI has served the high tech industry longer than any other trade association, beginning in 1916 when it was founded in Chicago, Illinois as the National Association of Office Appliance Manufacturers.

Environment & Sustainability

From ITI's early engagement and support of the U.S. Energy Star ® program, to advancements in product stewardship and design, ITI and its members have set the tone for industry leadership in energy efficiency and environmental performance.

ITI's Environment & Sustainability division engages globally in the following arenas:

• Product Design & Materials Restrictions

An integral component of the Environment & Sustainability division is ITI's Environmental Leadership Council, a separate membership entity that focuses exclusively on product-related environmental issues. With over 60 member companies from all areas of the electronics industry, ITI's Environmental Leadership Council is a recognized leader for key environmental initiatives across the United States.
