ITI's head Dean Garfield and TechNet's chief Rey Ramsey spoke by phone Wednesday night and agreed to put together a group of about five reps from each organization to meet as early as the first week in August to begin formal merger negotiations.
The move came after a voice vote Wednesday by the Information Technology Industry Council's board that authorized the trade group to begin formal merger negotiations with TechNet, first reported in POLITICO on Wednesday.
