WASHINGTON—The IT Alliance for Public Sector (ITAPS), a division of ITI, released the following statement from Trey Hodgkins, senior vice president for the public sector, welcoming passage by the House of Representatives of the two-year budget deal reached by congressional leaders and the White House:

“Bringing some measure of fiscal certainty to the federal marketplace is good news for federal technology and IT projects,” Hodgkins said. “We’re hopeful this agreement will remove an obstacle to Congress and the President passing and enacting an FY2016 NDAA with the acquisition reforms we have advocated for. Doing so would allow federal agencies to better plan a path forward for their IT innovations and modernizations over the next two years that wasn’t an option under a continuing resolution.”

The House of Representatives voted today to approve the agreement, which includes $80 billion in increases for U.S. federal domestic and defense spending, and lifts the national borrowing limit through March, 2017.
