WASHINGTON – The Information Technology Industry Council (ITI), the premier advocacy organization representing 58 of the world's leading tech companies, announced it is enhancing its government affairs team with the addition of Senate committee counsel Sarah Beth Groshart as a Director of Government Affairs and Legislative Counsel.  Groshart, who most recently served as a counsel for Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, begins her new role on Wednesday, October 1, and will be a lead government affairs liaison with members of the U.S. Senate.

"Sarah Beth brings a strong background through her work in the Senate on many policy areas that are key for the technology sector," said ITI Senior Vice President for Government Affairs Andy Halataei.  "As we look forward to working with lawmakers in the next Congress, her background on judiciary and homeland security issues will be an asset for ITI's member companies advocating for a pro-technology agenda."

Groshart's work will primarily focus on cyber and workforce issues, as well as outreach to members of the Senate.  Prior to her time on the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee, Groshart was a general counsel for Sen. Coburn on the Senate Judiciary Committee where she worked on intellectual property and related privacy issues.
