The Information Technology Industry Council thanks the bipartisan leadership of Senators Thune and Wyden for the introduction of the Digital Trade Act.  Their focus on these issues highlights the growing importance of digital trade to the future of our economy and the need to address these issues in all international venues.  U.S. exports of digitally enabled services totaled $356.1 billion in 2011 with a trade surplus of $135.1 billion, and present a real opportunity for future export growth.  We look forward to working with Senators Thune and Wyden as Congress and the Administration continue to assess these complex issues.
