WASHINGTON – The Information Technology Industry Council (ITI), the global voice for the technology sector's leading companies, released the following statement today from President and CEO Dean Garfield on the new regulation from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to allow employment authorizations for H-4 spouses of high skilled visa holders:

“We’re pleased the Administration is taking steps to bring relief to our dysfunctional immigration system. These changes can help attract or retain skilled employees in the workforce whose spouses are also often educated and offer a unique set of skills and talents.

“However, our immigration system is deeply broken and it can only be fixed through immigration reform.  Washington ignoring the problem is not a solution. If lawmakers finally find the will to act and pass needed reforms, our country’s economy would reach its full potential.”
