WASHINGTON – Today, ITI, the global voice of the tech sector, released the following statement from President and CEO Dean Garfield on President Donald Trump’s proposed budget blueprint for Fiscal Year 2018.

“While we would welcome learning more details about boosting cybersecurity efforts, overall, this is not the budget that the tech sector would have proposed. The dramatic cuts to investments that are key to America’s success like education, science and research, and boosting our competitiveness in markets overseas is troubling. That said, the president earned the prerogative to lay out his vision for the country, and we look forward now to being a part of the long and winding process to arrive at a final budget that serves the interest of the American people and grows our economy.”

ITI will be reviewing the budget proposal in the coming days to offer insights to its member companies on its impact to the tech sector’s policy priorities.
