One of the unique and distinguishing characteristics about ITI is the depth of expertise of our advocacy team. We take pride in that fact and the ways that our team helps to find policy solutions to some of the toughest challenges facing the global economy.
Today, we are excited to announce the start of a new ITI practice focused on addressing global privacy policy, and are bringing on board a top-notch expert in the field. Yael Weinman will join ITI in April after exemplary service at the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. She has a strong record working domestically and internationally on privacy, data protection, and Internet governance issues. She also has a tech background, having worked as general counsel for two different start-up firms.
Yael’s expertise matches the rapidly developing fields of data analytics, cross-border data flow, data protection, and privacy. These issues are at the cutting-edge of innovation and technology, and will largely define how technology advances in the coming years. Yael’s ability to advance global solutions that best serve the interests of consumers, governments, and the tech sector will be an enormous asset to ITI. She will be a leading voice not only for advancing innovation but also for finding the policy balance that will keep trade open and consumers protected.
Yael’s expertise will be partnered with ITI’s in-house privacy and global cybersecurity expertise, creating a central point for policy development and advocacy. We will continue to work to advance global solutions that best serve the interests of consumers, governments, and the tech sector.
