Shannon Taylor serves as ITI’s vice president of government affairs. Prior to joining ITI, Shannon served for 11 years in the House of Representatives. She joined the Committee on Energy & Commerce in August 2006 as Majority Counsel where she focused most of her time on tech policy, privacy, data security, and other FTC-related issues.
Prior to joining Energy & Commerce, Shannon served as counsel on the House Committee on Government Reform. During her tenure on Government Reform, Shannon focused on issues ranging from oversight of the president’s e-Government initiative, to housing and economic development, to brownfields and the environment. She also served as legislative assistant and counsel in the office Congressman Jim Gerlach. Preceding her time on Capitol Hill, Shannon practiced law in the aviation and immigration fields.
Shannon received her B.A. from High Point University and her J.D. from The George Washington University Law School, where she was a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association Quarterly Journal. She is a member of the Virginia and District of Columbia Bars. Shannon is a native of Maryland.
