ITI Award Ceremony

“As a representative from California, Majority Whip McCarthy has a unique familiarity with the tech sector,” Dean Garfield, President and CEO of ITI, said.  “He understands the critical importance of technology and innovation to create jobs in California and across the country.  In the past year, Rep. McCarthy has been a driving force in creating and passing legislation that will allow for future technologies to emerge and aid in America’s economic recovery.”

ITI presented McCarthy with the award at its board meeting this week in Washington, D.C.  ITI is the premier voice, advocate, and thought leader for the information and communications technology industry.  The organization is widely recognized as the tech industry's most effective advocacy organization in Washington, D.C., and in foreign capitals around the world.

“Representative McCarthy knows the profound economic impact that innovation plays in job creation.  He understands that we need first-class minds, first-class facilities, and a first-class commitment to an innovation economy to compete with the rest of the world,” Garfield said.
