WASHINGTON -- Today, the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) announced that Joel Miller will join the global tech trade association as Senior Director of Policy for Telecommunications. Miller will enhance and expand ITI’s expertise in global telecommunications policy, including broadband and 5G. He brings over a decade of experience in public service and has worked in various capacities to cultivate the legal and regulatory environment needed for technology companies to keep innovating and driving economic growth. Miller will start on May 17.

“As the world’s premier technology trade association, ITI is an important partner for policymakers worldwide as they seek to deploy the next generation communication networks,” said ITI President and CEO Jason Oxman. “Joel will enhance our ability to serve our members’ global policy needs in the areas of connectivity funding, broadband deployment, 5G, 6G, spectrum allocation, and more. We’re excited to welcome Joel to the ITI team.”

Most recently, Miller served as chief of staff and senior legal advisor at the Federal Communications Commission where he advised Commissioner Michael O'Rielly on a range of matters related to broadband connectivity, federal spectrum policy, and cutting-edge technologies such as 5G. Previously, Miller served as a senior staff member in the Office of U.S. Congressman Brett Guthrie, where he focused on technology and telecommunications policy.
