WASHINGTON - The Information Technology Industry Council (ITI), the global voice of the tech sector, released the following statement by President and CEO Dean Garfield welcoming the passage of the Judicial Redress Act by the U.S. Congress:

"This bill is a key component needed to finalize the Data Privacy and Protection Agreement to aid law enforcement in the United States and the European Union," Garfield said. "The Judicial Redress Act has also become seen as an important step to rebuilding the trust of our friends and allies by appropriately respecting the privacy of individuals. Given the significance of this measure, we urge President Obama to sign this bill into law. We thank Representatives Goodlatte, Conyers, and Sensenbrenner for ushering this legislation quickly through the House once again."
