WASHINGTON – Today, technology industry trade group ITI, the global voice of the tech sector, announced it is expanding its global presence with the hire of policy and advocacy professional Kumar Deep in India. Deep joins ITI as its Country Manager, India and will lead the global tech trade association’s engagement in the country. Deep’s work will focus on expanding ITI’s engagement with the Indian government and strengthening relationships with other technology and business groups in the region. He will be based in Delhi.
“We’re thrilled to have Kumar join our team and strengthen our voice and impact in this critical region,” said Jason Oxman, ITI’s President and CEO. “His background positions him to be an effective and thoughtful advocate for policies that support innovation and economic growth at a consequential time for our industry. The technology industry is global, and ITI has operations on four continents to advance our member companies’ policy and business interests around the world. We look forward to advancing our perspective in the policy debates around technology and acting as a bridge between the United States, Asia, and Europe, among other regions.”
Deep has nearly two decades of experience across the media and corporate sectors, where he’s been a leading voice in telecommunications and technology. Deep has worked with government officials across India, think tanks, and the business community on key policy issues regarding emerging technologies.
