WASHINGTON – ITI, the global voice of the tech sector, announced today that Ashley Berrang will join the organization next week to lead its communications outreach and external affairs team as senior vice president of external affairs.

“Ashley brings a level of communications insight and experience to ITI that will significantly strengthen our advocacy efforts,” said ITI president and CEO Dean Garfield. “At a time when there is a lot of noise, strategic communication is increasingly instrumental in reaching the right audiences with the right message. Ashley understands how to communicate effectively in Washington and beyond the Beltway – she has a track record to prove it. Additionally, she has a great entrepreneurial spirit that will blend well with the culture of the industry we represent.”

“As ITI tackles the complex policy challenges facing the world’s most innovative technology companies, I am excited to help strengthen its impact as the leading voice of the tech sector,” said Berrang.

Berrang joins ITI from Senator Shelley Moore Capito’s (R-W.V.) office, where she served as the Senator’s communications director, senior advisor, and on-the-record spokeswoman. In that role, she led and executed communications strategies on issues affecting the tech sector like rural broadband deployment. Prior to her time in the Senate, Berrang was the vice president of communications at the Bipartisan Policy Center, where she directed communications and marketing strategy for key policy initiatives and executive leadership.

Berrang holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley. In addition, she served as a board member of the Senate Press Secretaries Association.
