WASHINGTON – Today the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI), the global voice of the tech sector, issued the following statement from President and CEO Dean Garfield, reacting to President Donald Trump’s latest executive order on immigration, “Protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry Into the United States”:

“While the new executive order provides an important clarification for existing visa holders, what our country needs is for Washington to fix our broken immigration system,” Garfield said. “We strongly encourage the president and the Congress to seize the opportunity to create an immigration system that we can all be proud of. One that recognizes the innovative contributions and diverse talents of people of all backgrounds so entrepreneurs and business leaders can grow their companies and create jobs for Americans. The values and value that immigrants bring to our nation are a key source of American optimism and exceptionalism.”
