Thanks in part to the U.S. Department of Energy’s “Apps for Energy” contest, smartphone and tablets have hundreds of applications to help monitor, control, and boost energy efficiency. These apps may be utilized by individual devices, around the home, and even in commercial buildings to assist in lowering energy bills and meeting efficiency standards. These innovative and environmentally friendly apps have the potential to save thousands over time, while many of them cost far less or are even free.
Our friends over at Software Advice recently compiled a list of three energy management apps that any business or group can afford. While these apps center around commercial ENERGYSTAR standards, air quality and ventilation, and enhancing energy performance, we encourage you to check out the app store to see what you can do to increase the efficiency of your personal energy use.
